The Japanese TV channel BS2 will broadcast MEMORIES this month, the omnibus project released 10 years ago that concludes with the short film CANNON FODDER「大砲の街」 directed by Otomo himself. This short film stablishes some visual and narrative style that Otomo will continue developing in his next film STEAMBOY. Here Otomo's insights on Memories.
Bandai Visual has released a MEMORIAL BOX of the last animation film by Katsuhiro Otomo: STEAMBOY (スチームボーイ). The box includes the movie on DVD and three bonus discs: SteamBoy Archives, The Making Of SteamBoy and The Sound of SteamBoy. A 36 page booklet is also included. Katsuhiro Otomo's drawing that were used in the main box and in the posters and sticker that were use to promote the release of the box, are collected in the pages 18-20 of the book KABA 2 BOX DETAILS

Roujin Z (老人Z) was released today in DVD in a newly remastered edition from the HD 24P source that takes advance of the progressive video, offering a crispier image in selected DVD players and monitors. This animation movie directed by Hiroyuki Kitakubo (北久保 弘之) was released originally in Japan in 1991and it's an original story by Katsuhiro Otomo (大友 克洋) who was as well in charge of the script and the mechanical designs that featured in the movie. Those designs are collected in the pages 110 to 115 of the art book KABA 2. The story was also adapted to manga with the title ZeD.
